Rilla is the leading virtual ride-along software for outside sales teams. Rilla helps sales professionals rapidly improve in-person calls by recording conversations with customers and using AI to transcribe, analyze, and provide feedback.
Sebastian Jimenez is cofounder and CEO. He recalls the early years of Rilla, doing sales solo and struggling to keep up in Gmail. "I'll be honest — I dreaded email. I used to tell people, 'If it's important, call me. I'll lose it in my inbox.'"
Sebastian tried Superhuman Mail in 2021. "I still remember the feeling of that first Inbox Zero. It was pure relief and joy. In that first month using Superhuman, I must have doubled the deals I was handling."
Sebastian considers his Superhuman Mail onboarding a breakthrough moment for Rilla, letting him put his customers first and work at blistering speed. He shortened the company's sales cycle by going straight from inbound request to demo, skipping intro calls. He streamlined his follow-up process, relying heavily on Snippets and Reminders.
In part, this hyper-efficient sales process was shaped by necessity — in peak season, Sebastian was taking 12 hours of calls back-to-back, so everything else had to be streamlined. For instance, follow-ups and handoffs were done in the last minute of the call, using Snippets. Rilla also built integrations and automations to keep their CRM data up-to-date as deals moved forward, simplifying their sales process even further.
Necessity turned out to be a beautiful constraint. Sebastian realized that this stripped-back sales motion unlocked capacity without affecting win rate, and could become a process that new hires could use to drive predictable revenue.
Supercharging every rep
Sebastian says it was a no-brainer to make Superhuman Mail required tooling for his sales team. He onboarded Matt Felitto, Rilla's first sales hire and now Sales Lead, to Superhuman Mail.
"At first, I didn't think Superhuman would make that big of a difference," says Matt. "But once I built up some habits with keyboard shortcuts and the to-do list approach, it really paid off."
Matt now onboards all new Rilla reps to Superhuman Mail, helping set up their inboxes to give them back 1.5 hours a day on average. That efficiency especially pays dividends during Rilla's peak selling season (in the fall), when reps are capitalizing on the surge in demand for demos and in-person calls.
"With Superhuman," Matt says, "our reps stay on top of their follow-ups, even in conference season when they're selling literally all day. Even five minutes between calls is enough to move the whole pipeline along."
Rilla uses HubSpot as a CRM, though primarily as a retrospective tool for reporting and analysis. The "pulse" of the active pipeline is largely tracked in Superhuman Mail, with key deal data synced between tools with integrations and automations.
Scaling an overachieving sales team
Here are the Superhuman Mail features Rilla reps use the most, running ultrafast cycles and hitting an ambitious quota.
Sustaining a thrilling sales velocity
Rilla's sales velocity is best in class. During their busy season, reps are in demos 8+ hours a day, working more than 100 deals at a time. And their revenue per rep continues to climb.
For any sales leader, a 40% boost in sales capacity is a clear win. Sustaining that advantage while growing a team points to something more fundamental. It's one thing to sprint, feeling stretched and risking burnout. It's another entirely to embed speed into your culture — to be in flow and in sync, while being fast by default.
The most productive teams run on Superhuman Mail.
