Ornn is a startup building the financial infrastructure for compute. They run an exchange that lets GPU compute be priced, traded, hedged, and financed like a traditional commodity. Ornn’s index, OCPI, which tracks GPU rental prices, has been on the Bloomberg Terminal since April 2026.
Ornn was co-founded by CEO Kush Bavaria and CTO Wayne Nelms, who met at MIT and shared a thesis: compute was becoming one of the world’s most important commodities, but the market around it hadn’t caught up. Compute contracts were opaque and deal-by-deal, with little standardization. Ornn created the price benchmarks, hedging tools, and infrastructure that GPU capital markets are now built on. The company raised a $33M seed round led by a16z crypto in June 2026, with participation from Galaxy Ventures, Nordstar, SV Angel, and others.
Deals happen in email
At Ornn, email is the running record of every negotiation, with constant back-and-forth between buyers, sellers, exchanges, and data-center counterparties. The inbox is where a deal either happens or goes cold.
Ornn brought in Superhuman Mail before the a16z round, when the team was still just a couple of co-founders. Every new hire gets Superhuman on day one and is personally onboarded into the team’s email workflow.
As Ornn’s Head of Partnerships, Genevieve Harris is responsible for driving demand through events, relationships, and go-to-market campaigns targeting compute buyers. Genevieve was introduced to Superhuman by Ornn’s COO, Jack Minor. “Jack sat me down on day one and said, ‘Learn the keyboard shortcuts before anything else.’ It took maybe two or three days, and after that I couldn’t imagine going back to a mouse,” says Genevieve.
Clean handoffs, fewer crossed wires
Genevieve immediately saw the benefits for the broader team, too. They were “a small team hopping between events, customer meetings, and the office.” Superhuman Mail kept them fast and in sync.
Shared Conversations and Team Comments replaced a messy system of screenshots and Slack messages. On any email, every teammate can collaborate with instant, live context. No forked conversations or doubled work. At Ornn, a tag is a baton pass that makes it clear to the whole team who’s accountable for the next step.
Reminders improve speed-to-lead and keep early-stage deals on track. Genevieve treats her inbox as a to-do list, confident that deals will resurface when she’s ready to handle them. Auto Reminders catch loose threads by tracking emails that haven’t gotten a reply, so she never misses a follow-up.
Team Read Statuses and Team Reply Indicators show everyone where deals stand, without needing to ask. Genevieve has noticed less duplicate outreach: fewer teammates emailing the same contact or doubling up work
Even as deal volume has grown, Genevieve has seen accountability improve, and the team reports that deal cycles have shortened by 20%.
“Nobody's operating with blinders on anymore. Whoever touches a thread already has the full history and knows the next step. As we scale up, that’s only going to matter more," says Genevieve.
AI that impresses an AI skeptic
Working at an AI-native startup, Genevieve has a high bar for AI add-ons. She’s candid about it, saying:
The Ornn team heavily uses both Superhuman Mail’s inbox AI features and the Superhuman Mail MCP, which lets them work across email, calendar, and other connected tools from Claude.
Auto Summarize is Ornn’s most-used AI feature, run 115 times on average across the team each week. Genevieve calls it essential for distilling the long counterparty, exchange, and investor threads that go 80+ emails deep. , This saves her precious minutes in the day, and more importantly, reduces the mental load of tracking high-stakes conversations.
Ask AI can pull context on any deal and then draft messages and schedule events, right from Superhuman Mail. When Genevieve wants a broader view, she uses Claude to scan her entire inbox, calendar, and other connected tools for anything she might have missed. The combination gives her sharp focus on the deal in front of her and a wide net across everything else.
Fast and focused deals
Here are the Superhuman Mail features Ornn relies on to respond faster and keep track of every deal.
Growing without losing the thread
Genevieve estimates that losing Superhuman Mail would cost the team about an hour of productivity per person, every day, plus missed follow-ups on active deals. At Ornn's stage, that’s the difference between closing a deal and watching it go cold.
